Smoke Free Policy

Thank You For Not Smoking at Kalamunda Central

Kalamunda Central recognizes, in alignment with the Tobacco Products Control Act (2006), that non-smokers should be protected from exposure to tobacco smoke from tobacco products that are smoked by other people.

Accordingly, the Centre has developed the following policy to ensure protection of the health and safety of those who shop and work at and Kalamunda Central.

Smoking is prohibited by all persons within 5 metres of any centre or store entrance and includes all awning areas around the centre as well as:

• Cafes seating areas

• Internal air-locks

• Outdoor seating areas

• Retailer shops

• Service passages and fire corridors

• Amenities blocks

• All internal/closed areas of the centre

The Kalamunda Central Smoke Free Policy must be adhered to at all times. Exceptions will not be granted.

Fresh Art from Local Children

In July 2021, 30 local Kalamunda kids came together to learn about the importance of not smoking, and make some art inspired by the nature we see around us.

This artwork was then brought together to make three nature inspired patterns to use on the Centre’s new non- smoking artwork. Kalamunda locals then voted on their favorite, and the result will be installed at Centre entrances in 2022.
